BestNetTech Podcast Episode 442: Does AI Remove Or Provide User Agency?
from the back-and-forth dept
On a recent episode of our other podcast, Ctrl-Alt-Speech, Mike was joined by guest host Konstantinos Komaitis for a far-reaching discussion about online speech. One point that was briefly raised in that discussion was the question of whether AI tools are good or bad for user agency, and since Mike and Konstantinos didn’t entirely agree, it seemed like a good question to unpack in more detail — and that’s exactly what they do on this week’s episode of the BestNetTech Podcast.

Just using it to advert and Spam my cellphone
The fun is HOW a corp can use it. Not that it Will get use for anything Except Creating Automated Bots to call people to do sale and Spam everyone. Which we already have.
Do you think they will allow it to do billing? Surveys? Anything that Wont help a corp make more money and Fire more people?
Not a chance.
Now it Might be created, and used. But how Do you protect it?
Example is Wikipedia and all of its information. Its a Battle for them to Check all the daily changes and Fact check as well as Watch for Mr. JB, try to ADJUST his Resume that is in Wiki.
Trying to get Truth and facts in the world is hard enough.
Or lets try to let AI decide the ramifications of religion and its Viability. Do you want to start another war?
If it happens, the odds are it will be Polluted with mis-info and Opinions and incomplete answers.
Or Blown up by the corps, as soon as it tells us Capitalism SUCKS.
