I don't think Congress can pass a law that would change the Constitution. They would have to pass an amendment.
This "immunity clause" should be easily thrown out, if someone takes the effort (spelled $$).
I've been thinking about this, and it truly puzzles me when people say the NSA has "smart people." I would think that a smart person would not stretch the law as the NSA has done, because when it snaps back, their reach will be radically pruned.
My definition of intelligence is to be able to predict the outcome of actions and situations with accuracy. I guess my definition differs from most peoples.
"We're doing it for your own good. Trust us!"
Then lie, lie, lie.
Oops, more truth came out! New lies to cover the old ones!
I don't even want to consider what the President's parenting style must be like.
This is getting pretty bad. I wonder if Joey Biden has started prepping his Presidential acceptance speech? You know, the one he gives after Obama is impeached and needs to be pardoned.
Of course, something a little more serious will have to come to light. Bold-faced lying seems to be expected.
I think the proper term is, "anti-competitive practices." Censorship doesn't have the economic price tag immediately associated with it.
PS: Darn those default submit buttons!
I wanted to like Obama. I voted for him twice as well.
But I feel like he is a traitor to his country and himself. (See his pre-presidental comments on collecting information about Americans for clarity.)
His only loyalty seems to lie with the current government.
Land of the free and home of the brave has never sounded so hollow.
I just wonder if all of the city trucks that indescriminately sprayed anti-mosquito insecticide for the past 5 years or so had something to do with the bees decline. I haven't seen the trucks this year.
You make a claim without sufficient evidence for it, and with considerable statistical evidence against it. (How many millions of copies of GTA were sold? How many murders have been committed by one of those players?)
Do you really expect anyone to take you seriously?
Lots of taxpayer money and no brain...Perfect Politician.
FTFY
So we have a sequester, fired thousands of government employees, and this is how the remaining money is being spent.
I don't understand how some Republicans can be for "smaller government" and still condone these expenditures.
I'm facinated at how guns make crimes more violent. Bashing a hole in someone's skull with a hammer is bad, and stabbing and slashing another person's flesh to dripping ribbons is bad, but pointing a gun at them and pulling the trigger... much more violent.
This is true. However, you have at least several hundred, if not several thousand employees all trained in security who are able to break any system in the world... except their own. The system that they made.
And we're just supposed to swallow that, because the lunatic fringe said so. No rational or technical reason.
Come on. I think we all agree "House Intelligence" is an oxymoron, therefore a moron is a perfect person to be part of such a group.
My Grandpa always used to say, "when someone says, "trust me", they really mean, "fuck you.""
The NSA and Congress are a shining example of this.
"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood,
a beautiful day, hey neighbor,
if you're online
your data is mine"
Maybe Meeks is refering to the oath where he swears to keep the public safe. And the NSA secret.
Oh, yeah, that oath's top secret.
Really? Again?
"If God had wanted us to fly, he would have given us wings!"
"Them AI Hunter-Killer dronzez is gonna git us!"
You guys know that the Military drones are remote-controlled, right?
When you finally see an autonomous drone, it's prolly gonna ring your doorbell and drop off a pizza.
And you'll be shaking your fist, yelling, "HEY you damn drone, git offa my airspace!!!"
You're all a bunch of silicon-bigots. No wonder Sky-Net hates you.
I did some scratching around in Lotus Notes in '98, trying to figure out how to automate and/or migrate it with Exchange or even just a pop/smtp server, and I can sum it up in one word:inconcievable!
And Gates thought Ray Ozzie was technical.
History repeats itself all over again
Can anyone say, "Duck and Cover"? (Look it up on YouTube if you're under 45)
The cold war was over, the old revenue streams were drying up, then, "Terrorism!!!"
Now they're inducting the next generation. Never too early to plant the seeds of fear in the hearts and minds of people.
