Honestly I doubt that hackers would bother with the effort of VM installs. I would expect some hacker to figure out how Unity tracks installs, reverse engineer it, and write a script to send massive numbers of reported installs and then publish the script. They could even rent use of the script as a service. "Pay us ransom money or get revenue bombed!"
Nice work Paramount. I used to be a die-hard Trek fan until Babylon5 came around. You could of had me back with a book of Wolf 359 stories. But noooo. With a anime movie just out and a possible reboot on the horizon I don't think I'll ever come back to Trek. (Same goes for you Star Wars)
I've been post Netflix for a long time but these new restrictions have put me off of Netflix forever. I can by a dvd and take it to my friends weekly movie night. But if I buy a streaming box put my account on it I can't take that box to movie night plug it into my friends tv and watch Netflix? Goodbye.
Yeah there's going to be somethings I'll never get to see and I'm OK with that.
I agree that there's no law directly forbidding bypassing geo restrictions but I keep wondering why no one has tried a DCMA anti circumvention lawsuit.
Maybe I should ask a youtube lawyer or two.
Can someone point me to good, current information about vpns, geolocation and the law? Or suggest a good google search term? I'm not asking for information about how to use a vpn, but information about how the law covers vpns geolocation blocks and efforts/lawsuits to change the law. I can't get google to cough it up.
So if I understand this law correctly, if I'm screaming at the top of my lungs in agony after being injured, causing emotional distress to every one on scene, I could be charged providing I survive?
What happens to radio control drones that use Wifi for remote to drone communication? Will the remote lose control of the drone when the deauth packet comes around? Is Smart City basically a no fly zone?
"no one has ebooks and is looking to buy a player"
Actually, that is how I got started in ebooks. The entire Honor Harrington series is available for free (yes legally!) as ebooks. My friend urged me to give the series another chance so I started reading on an iPac. The books were ok but reading on the iPac sucked. I'm using a Nokia N800 today and I love it.
The other reason I use ebooks is programming documentation. My standard library of Perl books is a cubic foot of paper. 20+ pounds of paper. The html based version of the same books is 300Meg, fits on an SD card and weights nothing.
I wish the manufactures would give up on supporting just their own format and DRM. Totally useless.
I'm waiting on 4bit color e-ink displays. The Complete Iron Man Comic book DVD is calling out to be read on one.

John oliver has poked the mouse before
There's a bit of john Oliver's on ambulances where he compares a ambulance siren to Mickey mouse having sex, with animation.
