I can understand why the Police are camera shy, no video = no accusations of improper conduct etc. but unless we live in a secret police state and as long as the Police are public servants for Law and Order, they should be aired out. The Constitution of the United States of America guarantees every citizens right to free speech, not suppression or repression. The Police shouldn't be so camera shy in our free country.
Bupkis to AT&T for making such an error in user projections and then making the customer pay for it. Bupkis to all the customers who bought into this fiasco of greed.
The UK's use of traffic cameras is hardly abuse in my opinion, tracking autos at certain events in an effort to suppress terrorism is hardly the controlling big brother activity that many fear. The UK has suffered many terrorist related events, more than the U.S has ever experienced, the thing that people should truly fear is the bomb or other agent of destruction that kills in cowardice with the accompanying announcement of ownership by people with a real agenda of control by terror.
I too don't understand how mechanicaly reading a book outloud breaks copyright, unless you take into account that Authors do make royalties from Audio Book sales and that Amazon also owns Audible.com. TTL does not compare to a professional readers performance in the audio book format, unless one likes to hear robotic voices, though that might improve in the future to the point that TTL may sound natural...
Syfy lol! Sci Fi Channel lost it's imagination a long time ago and currently puts out the worst low budget entertainment menu. This channel doesn't need a name change, it needs a total overhaul and a lot of good material.
Cell Phones in public places are already becoming a nuisance as people speak, many times loudly, in public with their intimates and share unwonted details of relationships, argue, and/or speak mindlessly around others. Having people on a plane speaking loudly on their phones during a flight would leave no peace or privacy to passengers seeking a peaceful trip. Expensive plane phones? Keep them, the price for a call will filter truly urgent calls from chatter and keep the noise level down.

Slowing Mass Transit
Wow this will only slow mass transit even more and create additional tax burdens on all of us. I say nay!
