  I won't play the online only game. I'm a solo player-I like to build cities and regions...period. This new version isn't about that. SC4 is outdated. I've had Sim City since it was a new game. Thanks EA, for killing it for the real fans.

  To GET a patent with a Genetic Trait, I would assume you would have to have a formulation or Gene Map that corresponds to the Trait's behavior/function.
  
  These traits have migrated and mutated. If one were to examine the genes of products years after the original patent, would it even resemble the original genetic footprint?

  If I buy it-it's mine. It stops being yours to dictate uses for and of right after you take my money. That's called a transaction. If anyone wanting to do transactions can't deal with their age-old simplicity, then they're not likely doing a transaction but are performing a lease.
