It would seem fair for a photographer to receive compensation for his professional services. In this instance where a photo was taken without permission of the subjects, perhaps dual ownership could be entertained. The subjects could use this photo for strictly personal use while all commercial rights remain with the photographer.
I would recommend a series made in 1977 by the economist John Kenneth Galbraith entitled 'The Age of Uncertainty'. This ivy league professor's series deals with historys record on culture, politics, economic and its relationship with self-interest(greed). Self interest can be packaged in almost infinite parcels, packed with the various complexities dictated by our religious, economic, political, social etc.,etc.... experiences in life. The variations of this mix is astronomical and may never be able to be effectively managed. Case in point, all the comments made on this subject smack of self-interest on the writers part
I fully appreciate the increasing convenience that technology is promoting via wireless automatic interfacing. The RFID technology is here to stay. That being said, Apple's future lies in creating a device which replaces the inconvenience of carrying multiple devices and contains incredible amounts of data(watch or bracelet) which will evolve into a system of which it will be mandatory to participate. Security will be the key to success. Without absolute security, any system will be unmarketable.
Destruction of such a system being built is not a bad thing to some who favor stopping this progression, as it facilitates a central authority to the extreme. The entity who controls the process controls us. How much faith does one have in this process, after all such other institutions , the federal reserve for instance, only attracts honest people. Right????
