Why is anyone surprised that the police are unethical and generally make things worse? There are few to no police in the US that shouldn't be in jail according to their own standards let alone someone with ethics and morals.

    Color me not surprised

Oh look police acting like the police. Unethical and criminal. Never met a cop that wasn't one the other or both.

It does help that they actually targeted something other than the US. It's one thing to tell everyone you are willing to point stuff out from anyone and anywhere, actually doing it is a big step. It's not like there is nothing anywhere else in the world that is bad and should be exposed.

It's a lot like the police saying they are not racist, yet they only pull over brown people. And then point to the one white guy they have a parking ticket to 3 months ago as proof they aren't racist.

I don't believe that wikileaks is after America specifically, but actions speak louder than words. You want to make people stop saying that, prove it and this kind of thing goes a long way toward that.

    This generations prohibition is prohibition

There are hundreds of laws against chemicals used for the same reasons as Alcohol. Copyright system sucks, but it doesn't put millions of people in jail, costing billions of tax dollars in capital output annually and trillions more is lost capital input to the economy, meanwhile fund criminal gangs that kill thousands annually in their drive for the illicit profits (Like the Mob during Alcohol prohibition). I fight for copyright reform but it's nothing next to the actual prohibition going on today.

Even the author has lost their mind....

Basically One of two things happened here.
    1) Child A was attacked and choked by Child B, and responded to the lose of oxygen in an appropriate way. Child A caused pain without damage to Child B in order to illicit the response needed (Not just desired and Air is generally considered a must have) which was have Child B release his throat. This was done with a blow to the genitals.
    2) Child A ran up and punched/kicked Child B in the crotch and then Child B started choking/fighting with him.

Either way, one of these two children was reacting to being assaulted. And while we don't want to encourage fighting in situation 1 it's not fight on Child A's part but self defense. The author however comes from the prospective that obviously they should be punished, and obviously the strike to the grown was assault, not self defense at all. I wonder what people like this think they would do if someone had there hands around their throat and was choking the life out of them. Are they going to call 911? What do they do if there is one one around? Do they just lay down and die? People like this that have institutionalize the vilification of natural human behaviors and responses, that cause so many children to end up 'in the system' before they can graduate from High School.

Rent control makes the rent high?

How do you see this as happening? I am not sure how you even make that leap. Please explain it step by step.

does that mean I can patent wood?

I mean I cleaved it from the whole and it doesn't ever exist in nature in plank form so I should be able to patent planks of wood right?

    Nothings impossible

Nothings impossible, Only improbable. And you can't prove a negative.

    Re: Re:

"That Mike can't even conceive of this possibility ("Why would they do that unless the camera shows them doing something wrong?") shows his tunnel vision I think"

I think the problem might be that the cops keep doing this. It's not the first time they have arrest this man for this exact same thing, and last time they where full of it. Also what was he doing for the cops to stop to begin with? They drove by so they could talk crap on his son and then stopped when someone talked back? This does not strike you as unethical behavior right from the start? Add to that the proven unethical behavior from them in the past and you start to assume a little. Not saying the cops where wrong this time, video will let us know (Provided they don't destroy it), but they lost the benefit of trust when they arrested his on trumped up charges the first time.

    Isn't that B and E or vandalism?

At the very least they are adding weight via the device to the car which degrades the performance which I think would be a violation of my property rights, but most times they would be breaking into and/or searching the car which is a felony.

Personally I have no problem with the police putting the tracker on my car, but the tracker should become mine (They gave it to me intentionally) and the officer that performed the act should be charged with vandalism and if anyone else helped plan the act they should all be changed with criminal conspiracy, but the tracking itself should be fine as I would be in public....:)

    Re: Re: Job posting...

Do you also support the KKK in your spare time? The Catholic church allowed thousands of children to be abused, while systematically covering it up, suppressing the stories, and continue to employee the criminals and then fighting all charges and denied allegations even accusing tormented victims of being liars and punishing them within the church.

The Catholic church might have some great and wonderful priests in it. I am sure the KKK does some great charity work too, but you will not catch me defending them

    Why are you torn?

Don't the TSA agents have the right to quit or refuse? I know if my boss told me that I had to sexual assault (And don't fool yourself, that's what they are doing) people in order to keep my job, she would have to fire me for it.

I don't know why people question weather morals should be followed in the workplace. If it's a big enough deal you should follow your morals, the TSA agents are not.

    Why no warrent?

Why was there no warrant issued for the arrest of those that stole property? BRIEN obviously told WorldStream they had the legal right to those servers which unless I am mistaken is theft via misrepresentation. I am no lawyer but I am always curious why more business related crime does not result in people be arrested.

    nothing new in the world

There is nothing new in the universe, never has been never will be. The sooner people figure that out the better.

Military service members are subject to the UCMJ

He has the right to stand duty wherever he is ordered to stand duty. Currently he is ordered to stand duty in a military prison awaiting trial. This prison is not that different than civilian prisons and waiting for trail in confinement is not unusual in military or civilian cases for such magnitude. He will see a courts marshal in good time.

    and your calling them misleading?!?

Wikileaks has released thousands and thousands of state department and DOD documents (Well over 2k we are talking about here) much of it was not redacted correctly (Quite likely leading to death in Afghanistan). It ask seems to have crushed the fledgling democracy in Zimbabwe by reveling that Morgan Tsvangirai was willing to work with the US and EU.

The Afghanistan documents where never redacted the way they where suppose to be and to this day still have not been completely redacted.

Last and most importantly, you suggest that they are not just dumping documents (even though it's obviously what they did with the Iraq and Afganistan docs) but to date nothing in the State department docs show and illegal or unethical behavior. So what exactly is it leaking? Is it really now OK to jut give any private information or correspondence away? (JA didn't think so when his criminal report and online dating profile got out).

I know that the default here is always freedom of information but you really have no ground to stand on with this claim. The new docs might be coming out slow, but they are not redacted or reviewed well before doing so which just makes it a very slow indiscriminate dump.

Why shouldn't they be able too?

Don't they own the building? Didn't you choose the live there? Why should they be forced to allow every tom dick and harry cable, phone, or internet provider hack up the wiring in their builds? What happened to thier right to choose what is best for thier business?

    Why are you surprised?

The AMA has been screwing the American public for years. They are far more worried about the bottom line for doctors and big Pharma, than they are about your health or even nurses, CNAs and the like that they are suppose to rep. People think the AMA must be on their side, but they are are the side of making more money and that is it. They are for all practical purpouses the RIAA or MPAA of health. They screw you over for hte bottom line (Money) and only have the goal of making more money for themselves, if you get sick and die in the meantime that's ok.

    I might sue too

If someone used my face in that POS movie. Just having your name or face associated with such a bunch of violent idiots could cause all kinds of harm. In this case however it looks like she asked to be on the billboard so she is a public figure. But I don't blame her for being mad.

Google is trading on someone elses geek status

I am not sure this will go anywhere, but anyone that can't see that Google was using the work of PKD to help the products seem kewl either has never seen or read the story in question or is just to interested in hard and fast law to care.

I am not going to say that Google should have to pay here but I do think they knew exactly what they where doing. If I named a product line Enterprise and the first product in the line 1701, would you still be saying the Gene Roddenberry's estate was full of crap?
