At age 4 when he got his green card? he could be forgiven for not retaining that memory. as a permanent resident of Australia It seem like I have always known I could not vote, I cant say a time I specifically learned I could not vote. I know I did some investigation 30 years ago on the first election because I knew I could not vote and I also knew it was compulsory to vote by law(for citizens) One would hope that when you first sign something that says I am allowed to do this you might ask, but I guess he did not or did not understand. I guess it was something I learnt in the civics classes at school. In australia, when you first became a permanent resident makes a difference for example as some one that came over in the 90's I am eligible for a medicare card if I had come over this century I would not be. But it's generally up to the government to keep track of that. If they change the rules, I would not be punished just because I applied for a new card.

It is, that a citizen can vote and non-citizen can not. I don't think you can discuss what it should be? You can make a lot of hypothetical discussion but nothing would change. Generally worldwide both can own land, both can work, both pay taxes, both may receive benefits, both can attend education, both can work for the government, both == generally have the same laws and same punishments for breaking those laws. Generally a non-citizen can not get a passport but that is not exactly the same worldwide given some countries sell passports to non-citizens.

When they are lying about some things, are they lying about all things? So if a information source is contary to what they are telling you it becomes believed because you know the first source is at least lying sometimes. For example, I posted something that has been published on Australian TV news. It was regarded a misinformation because it was I presume contrary to US media. So which information source is providing misinformation?

This was always going to happen and will happen again. Age verification laws by default need to contain that you don't store all the data and make it illegal to store all the data they gain through the process of verifying all your data. In australia they are bringing in digital id's which will probably get connected to age verification. It will be hacked, it will be stolen the thought that every single piece of information that can be used to verify who I am will be stored in one place terrifies me. we already have a system online called myGov.au that is connected to social security and tax systems Guess what I get the most spam about. People pretending to be myGov.au to attempt to get my log in details.

Joe Biden being to senile to be president, does not exclude Donald Trump from being to Senile to be president, Both can be true, its not a OR.

  • Sep 30, 2025 @ 07:25pm

I dont see anything that suggests all of the above can't be true, they obviously categorise people with a literacy level of 5th or 6th grade as literate rather then illiterate

Hamas is not Palestine, Palestine is not hamas

But at the same time the Republican Party controls the us government. The us goverment controls the us. Is your argument that a country that feels it can not reconcile with the us should go to war with the republican party? Hamas has been in control of Palestine since 2006. The inhabitants of Palestine have been holding and killing hostages for nearly 2 years. Are you contending that not one resident of Palestine but only Hamas is involved in this? Your comparison to the nazis would only hold up if in 1939 that Jews went into Berlin and killed 1000 plus people and took 240 hostage. They did not.

Nintendo is probably not being hypocritical because the lawyers/bosses behind the lawsuit probably don't even know about pal land. But this is really a conflict between the copyright maximalists, everything belongs to us and the artists, who borrow, have inspiration, do stuff like people they like etc just like they have for centuries and have practical issues like there are so many good chords and if you have alleady written x for company z that when you right z for company y its really hard to make x and y not almost identical technically its not even a copyright issue because copyright does not cover it,so they are using patents.

I would disagree, both parties have abandoned the truth. Are they equally bad? no their is no false equivalence. One is clearly behaving worse then the other.

  • Jul 09, 2025 @ 04:15pm

Exactly the same as the Israelis held by Hamas. Hamas might call then detainees, but they are kidnappeees, hostages or captives. I know you blame trump but trump does not personally do all this, The bureaucracy that enables these actions was there before trump and chances are will remain after trump. I am sure there excuse will be the same as the nazi's we were following orders.

    Is BestNetTech social media?

I would disagree, I am not on bluesky but I am not on twitter either, I am barely on Facebook, but I rarely go outside my family and friends. I feel like I have plenty of exposure to dissenting voices, perhaps all the exposure I actually want. news media dont all agree with each other, what you see on the bbc or abc Australia varies quite a bit from say the daily mail.

see the recent issues, with county sheriffs vs out of county deputies and the various FBI and ATF agents "caught" by overly zealous police.

was rubio heard to mutter "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"

  • May 22, 2025 @ 04:40pm

More cost but that a fixed cost. There is almost no cost per unit. so having spent there money to make it their is no real reason to not sell as many digital licences as they can. Once they buy BL4, its only a small step to selling them battlepasses, expansions and eventually BL5. personally since bl3 got perhaps a hour of play total I would pass regardless.

    Lazy? fans

Unfortunately chasing the true fans does lead to enshitification, the artist pushes resources and time towards keeping the true fans happy and a easy shortcut is delaying things for the non true fans. then you have groups like file770 where if your not a true fan your not a fan at all and do not belong in their group or voting for their awards. Generally I know that the artist is just trying to chase a few more dollars, but I ignore all supplications. if owning 90-100% of their books is not enough, oh well. Its not about being lazy ,its disagreement with the whole true fan system.

Its not fascism everywhere. Deciding someone is not a citizen and laws governing citizens don't apply - fascist. putting advertising on "screensaver" is merely extreme capitalism. so its not all fascism. I generally feel that fascism can be right or left since its not really either, at that point its the leaders, those that work for the leaders and everyone else, note by default communism is not fascism. its just very easy to take that little step.

  • Mar 20, 2025 @ 03:17pm

Pretty sure blue sky only wants the left. So no interest in joining, does not make me a nazi, if everybody not of the left is a nazi your seeng nazi's under the bed. Liberals is a party not a faction, note our liberals are right wing.

Since we will probably never have a Harris administration we cant know for sure. But hey the word coup is being thrown out there. Someone may act on it. But we can suspect that a Harris Adminstration would have its own issues. it probably would have been like the biden administration but more extreme. I would consider this a lesson to the elite democrats that they need to pay attention to who they put forward it is not just a game of tic tak toe.

Weaponisation is generally used in a derogatory sense in modern usage. even the definition seems to offer "bad" examples. Sorry Glynn Moody and CashnCarry I could not find a good or at least less evil synonym.

If lifting your hand over your shoulder is a nazi salute then it's a nazi salute. But do is pretty much every salute in the last century including every American officer ever saluted. the first salute was a rough American salute. Go watch some old John Wayne movies for similar salutes. The second was probably intended to be a cheer or fist bump, but autism... One of the more amusing memes I have seen had Obama, Captain Kirk, Kamala and Ms Clinton all making similar gestures.
