@Rowena Cherry - Your arguments all make sense, except for the fact that posting on the web is an implicit invitation to access. Don't want people to access it? Don't post on the web, simple as that. On the web free access is implied; that's a key aspect of the design of the web. Or make sure a password is required to access it. If I leave my property on the public sidewalk in front of my house then I'm the fool if someone takes it. If you don't like me downloading it, take it off your website; the remedy is completely in your hands.

Yes Mike, please retiltle. You are unfortunely giving people who only read tiltes the wrong impression. It's Automattic, not WordPress that is taking these actions. WordPress is just the software, not the company.
While I'm totally with you on the subject of your post, it would really be nice if you used question marks more often to denote questions in your comments. Please? :-)

Oh but there is a reason!
Oh but Mike, there *is* a reason these emails are helping someone.
They are comic gold, that's what they are! :)
Don't post on the web if you don't want to give people access.

Re: Re: To be fair
There's always someone who ignores the core point and instead focuses on dissecting the minutia.
Question marks after questions, please?
