Apple should move overseas in search of freedom.
What a dumbass. At this point, I'm picturing DHT as Spaceball One, filled with cross-eyed assholes.
Paul Hansmeier's actions prove without doubt that he is a sociopath. You can basically run down the checklist with him. Pathological liar, incapable of empathy, incapable of shame, never admits guilt, malfunctioning moral compass, ruthless and successful in business.
He will be a leech upon society until the day he dies. No doubt most of that time will be spent as the CEO of a series of rotten companies. I'd say I feel sorry for his wife, but I suspect she shares his values.
Thanks for reporting on this. Our only consolation is that his crimes will always be well documented on the Internet for everyone to see.
Twitter wants their platform to be the global soapbox, especially for corporations, celebrities, and politicians because they are the ones that bring in the dollars. If politicians can't edit their history in their own favor, they won't use the platform.
This is a purely financial move, plain and simple. If you think Twitter really cares about the terror of having your posts be forever, ask yourself what they would do if handed a request from law enforcement to get a history of a user's past tweets. They'd hand it over with a smile on their face.
The people who run police unions are not smart people. I doubt they could even understand the meaning of 'ad hominem attack'. In fact, they would probably think you were calling them gay, and then beat you up with clubs.
First, you need to brush up on what is and is not defamation. You know, like those undisclosed facts and whatnot? This kid didn't file a complaint accusing a teacher of anything. Joking and boasting with friends is something entirely different. "Bush and Obama are actually war criminals." See how easy that was. An assertion that isn't defamation.
Second, this kid acted completely out of the school. The administrators are retaliating for thoughts and speech that don't fall within their jurisdiction. They stepped way over the line, no matter what he said.
That principal wasn't voted into office.
Not ironic. Apt.
That's not the kind of whistle-blowing they want to protect. They want to protect the guy who rats out on corrupt billing practices and other low level fraud that costs the government money. Any dissenter that calls bullshit on straight-from-the-top illegal policies must be destroyed immediately and buried.
It's about the protection of the feels.
The TPP is going to pass and there's nothing I can do to stop it :(
This is a direct attack on democracy. Where are those 2nd amendment guys now? This is what they've been waiting for!
That wouldn't make sense in this case. The teachers weren't involved. It was an administrator.
And police pensions paid for wrongful death lawsuits.
This is unlikely. Backpage could never defeat Visa an a court battle over terms-of-service issues. Especially without an income.
Jesus, what do these guys have to do get investigated? Money talks I guess. I fully expect to see them get away with actual murder a few years down the road.
DRM is like violence. If it isn't working, the solution is always to use more.
The only good thing about crotchety old goons like this guy is that you don't have to deal with their crap for very long. They tend to die out and take their stubborn, out-dated, and repulsive ideas with them.
Unreasonable request
I don't know why BestNetTech is complying with the wishes of this person. If s/he filed a lawsuit without merit, and now regrets it, s/he can't just say 'sorry' and have the past erased. Frivolous lawsuits cost the defendant emotional and financial harm. Any request by this person to erase their mistakes should only be honored if they have provided restitution to the victim. I very much doubt that has happened.
Until restitution is paid, I say crack open the case and post a new story.
