Apparently it is 1984 in the school district of Glendale, California
They always say everything is bigger in Texas. Apparently that includes the stupidity.
I also have a Pogoplug that I have been using for a few years, and bought a second one (on amazon for $20) that I wiped and installed a LAMP server on, it acts as a private web server. The down side of pogoplug is that you still access the files through their portal, so if they shut down, you lose the access ability, but the files and storage are yours.
With him in charge of the whole country instead of just NYC, there is a higher probability that someone will just off him....
I have had a SodaStream for about 5 years, and love it. No schlepping is the #1 advantage, and the costs are decent. A recharge canister is only $15... I like it, and use it regularly.
I am backing a new Project on KickStarter for a device called SPRiZZi, which is more like a Keurig-type experience for soda... It is closing soon, so check it out!
The reason market driven changes won't work here is that there is an "industry standard" that everyone follows. If there was someone who offered an alternative, and that company had the ability to make the product available, then as people started leaving current providers to go to this new innovative service, then change may occur.
As it is, the industry players are entrenched and made it hard for any new players to enter the space.

When is he running for something? This is a man I would vote for!
Hey I live in Florida! And most of the people around me.... Oh. Yeah. You may have a point...
I disagree. Sounds like a textbook case of PEBKAC .
I'm surprised that Monster Cable hadn't beat them to it, considering their record for going after anyone who uses monster in anything...
The "up" side is that those countries will fix that once they read about the workaround...
I can't come close... I've had mine since 2008...
They calculate the 2000 bottles by family... Avg size of 4. Not unreasonable for 1.25 bottles per person per day...
Actually, they have a line on flavors that have all natural sweeteners. They use cane sugar instead of HFCS.
To quote my niece: "Well, duh!"
Dish is trying to present the content the way that people want to consume it. Heaven Forbid!
This guy in a prison yard with the other inmates, when asked what he's in for: "Video taping movies" :)
