  Yes, I was quibbling with the assertion that Tesla moved its headquarters to Texas years ago. The Texas factory was built quickly, but the first cars were delivered in April 2022. Texas law restricts manufacturers from making auto sales directly to customers.   Wikipedia says Verizon Wireless has 142.8 million US subscribers. A $1.92 price hike generates $278,460,000 extra cash PER MONTH, I would loooove to see any documentation hinting that Verizon is spending anywhere close to that amount MONTHLY to comply with federal regulations.

  I don't see what the big problem is, Miranda rights clearly state "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to an attorney; unless I can fast-talk you out of it, trick you into confessing, or just ignore your rights until you break." Right?

  It's a trigger law in that it currently does nothing because there's a statute which supersedes it. But if circumstances change somehow HB20 would be "triggered" and actually be enforceable. It's not stated within the law, just what results from the current interpretation of the text. I'd liken it to CSS, if you set a page background to red but there's a class on it which says green, the page is green. Until the class is removed, and then it's immediately red by default.

  Seems like he should be leading the charge to fix the law that doesn't do what he intended if the courts have to ignore his intent; unless it's just intended to spawn frivolous lawsuits.
