  This should be an prime example

  That the country is willing to fund medical research is great... until the fruits of that research get handed to entrepreneurs, which I don't understand. I paid for it. I came to know this pain first hand while trying to get some IT research I could have really used that I KNOW was publicly funded; after searching for some time I found it: locked behind a pay wall, two, actually. So the Gov. doesn't simply sell my data to the highest bidder, it sells it to anyone with a credit card. And I? Got the shaft. Re-invented the wheel, essentially.

  I'm torn

  On one hand, I agree; if Wikileaks has published anything that puts US GIs in jeopardy that's bad. But the US Government doesn't seem to have any problems putting its own citizens under its microscope, its nice to see it getting some of that back. And Assange, as far as the leaked memos go, more power to him.

  Visa, MC, et al do not have the right to declare something illegal, but they absolutely have the right to do business with whomever they choose. The corp. heads may not be aware they hold accounts for the KKK, maybe the media hype will change that now.

  That's not really a very important distinction. How does THAT make any difference? Most "streams" are archived, if you want to listen to a live broadcast at another time you just locate the archive. Its actually not a huge difference. It certainly doesn't seem to make much of a difference to web sites that offer both archives of pod casts and streams at particular times that I've seen.
  
  Why does anyone need to be so cogently aware of this difference? You seem to be bringing up a pointless point here.

  This is the same country that addresses piracy and "illegal" content copying by adding a VAT to retail recordable media and supposedly giving that money to the "artists". I'm curious to know just how much of that money goes to Celine Dion.

  The only reason its a problem is because Canadian actors, production people, etc, once they get known, come down south to start making some real money. THAT's what has Canadians gnashing their teeth over the Canadian television situation. If its a real problem the the real solution is to bar those actors from moving south.
