    Time shift?

I'm not sure of the details of the suit, but isn't time shifting the ability to rewind and pause live radio? The Inno does not have this function. It can record and play back. The functionality is so crippled I've found the $200 device to be pretty much useless. I can set up recordings for shows that are scheduled late at night, but I can't get them off the radio. I may as well just use my computer to record shows.

    Re: Surprised at the conclusions

I'm not *surprised* by the conclusions, but I agree with you.

The study was of people who telecommute at least once per month, right? After 3 years at my previous job, I moved 700 miles away to go back to school full time. I kept my job, working from 10 to 25 hours during the semester, and 40 hours during breaks. It was great, and I was able to stay focused and was probably getting more done in 20 hours than I used to get done in 40.

After graduation, I stayed where I was and started working full time from home. I never felt like I was getting enough done, so I would unintentionally work up to 12 hours a day. I barely had any human contact during the week, and I felt completely disconnected from the office. I felt myself getting depressed.

After about 6 months I started a new job. I continued consulting for them part time for a while, but I was using my time more efficiently and felt good about my work. Now after a year at my new job, I'm going to start telecommuting one day every two weeks, and I am sure I will make very good use of that time away from distraction.

I think telecommuting works really well for some people, but I think a lot of people are like me. A few days in the office, then a few days at home, is a good balance.

    Read the article

Seems like Mike didn't read the article and is spreading bad information.

This would be on par with phishing for your Amazon.com password, then changing the shipping address to my own for your recent purchases.

To "real?" Ok, how about if I phish for your iTunes password where you have $100 in credit? I can download $100 worth of music. It's all virtual, right?

    Re: Wow!

That's easy to fix - don't shop at Walmart.

Shop for trash WITH the trash ... that's the Walmart way.

I love that the Lewinsky debacle is the best you can come up with. The only thing you can harp on has nothing to do with the way he ran the country. Bush would totally whip it out if anyone would go near it. But ewwwwww

Re: Re: Re: protecting your company

Phoenix, is it really that easy to find out a person's age? What if a post a video of a 14 year old girl from Russia on my US web site? It wouldn't be very easy to track her down. Also, how do you find the date it was made unless it is explicitly stated?

We're talking about pornography on the internet here. It's not easy to track.

I think a good middle-ground would be to require age verification if the "performer" receives money. This would protect the anonymous folks on sites like XTube, but also help stop underage folks from popping up.

Of course, the age verification doesn't exactly protect the right people. Like someone mentioned, real child porn is underground and folks cover their tracks. There really is no victim when a 17 year old lies about his/her age to do porn, so it's not a good place to start "fighting" child porn.

    Re: Re:

Maybe you can find several jukeboxes "all around" your town, but I can only think of one bar of the many I frequent in Atlanta that has a jukebox. Weren't these EVERYWHERE years ago? You would think that technology would make digital jukeboxes more affordable and more attractive with larger catalogs available, but they seem to be more of a novelty now, and more expensive to play than it's worth.

    Re: wow

I'm so tired of ignorant fools who think everything is black & white. Not all sex offenders are child molesters. And MySpace isn't responsible for babysitting your children. I have a friend who was caught having sex with another man while he was serving in the military. Because of that, he is registered as a sex offender and had to move when a new Georgia law said that sex offenders can't live within so many feet of a school bus stop. Do you think he's a threat?

Grow up and pay attention to your children. If you don't want to be a parent, use a condom.

    Re: Police job description

A single law-abiding citizen with a gun could have saved several lives by stopping this nutcase. But thanks to anti-gun laws, that was rendered impossible. I'm not sure where you've been, but the one piece of legislation we ever had (which would have stopped this kid from getting those weapons) expired on Dickwad Bush's desk about 4 or 5 years ago. You can go out and buy a semi-automatic weapon at a local store if you want. Sure, you have to pass a background check ... but if you think that's violating the constitution, go start your own country.

    Why complain?

I don't understand all the complaints about Vista. There is a very simple solution: Don't upgrade. If you bought Vista and find you don't like it, I'm not sure what you were thinking. Every electronics store has computers set up with Vista installed so you can TRY IT first. Who the hell buys a $200 piece of software they know nothing about and installs it on their computer?

As for the "important stuff" that Vista Basic does not include, I hardly think the graphical goodies count as "important." Do a little research. The OS was rewritten. The OS IS the important stuff.

    Re: And this news....

I had no trouble navigating Win 3.1 without a mouse. Honestly, I can handle most WinXP navigation without a mouse with relative ease, as well as MS Office applications.
