  • Israeli Claims Patent Over Adding .com To The End Of The Address Bar

    Glaze ( profile ), 09 Sep, 2009 @ 10:41am

Its all about the search function...

I know with IE, netscape, firefox, not so sure about chrome.... but these browsers have the ability to "search" from the address bar... is this what the patent is about? I can't make heads or tails from it either but that seems to be what they are getting at. Microsoft would be responsible for IE's address bar search function, mozilla for firefox, and google for chrome. Just not sure why they would target yahoo...

"How in the world has a mass boycott not taken care of this problem by now?"

The problem lies not in the boycott... the problem lies in the general public not being informed and being too stupid to realize what is or is not happening in this digital age. Too many people don't care or are willing to allow themselves to be taken advantage of by the big businesses of today. I am sure if we had a full out uprising against the MPAA and the RIAA, that they would fall and all content would belong to the people again.

Also watermark your work, that you put out there on line. If someone wants to copy it, they can't do so without purchasing a non-watermarked copy. The watermark doesn't have to be huge, just enough to make someone who just wants to save your files from the site and turn it into their own a little more difficult.

    Its all about the game...

Ok I think a lot of people here missed the point of the motion device. Its not an invasion of privacy... it is specifically for gaming, they aren't going to be allowing this information to be sent back to sony for obvious reasons legal reasons... but both Sony and Microsoft are in the planning stages of releasing the next big system... both of which incorporate motion sensitive controlers. Say you are playing the latest SoCom game, to duck and fire and rally your troops you would have to say it, actually get down on your belly and pull some fake trigger. I hope this clears this stuff up for those of you are are running and screaming invasion of privacy.

  • Is It Illegal To Posess Unmarked CDs In Texas?

    Glaze ( profile ), 07 Aug, 2009 @ 02:26pm

    Wha wha what!!!

"Harris County District Attorney's spokeswoman Donna Hawkins said both charges are third-degree felonies, punishable by two to 10 years in prison upon conviction."

I guess I would like to know how possession of an unlabeled recording is 3rd degree felony? Anyone got any answers on that one... And as far as the gun goes... no wonder they couldn't find it he was 500+ lbs. and never had to go through a metal detector or be wanded.

Now I know someone who was a prison guard for quite some time... and all the inmates were required to go through metal detectors and be wanded, but she told me there were a few times when some of the larger ones would get in with some sort of metal weapon becuase the metal detectors couldn't penetrate the mounds of fat and flesh...

Re: Re: Re: Raise the speed limit

It wasn't really a study by any foundation or organization... just what i've witnessed for myself living in the heart of the twin cities... very rarely do I find myself driving 55 in a 55, its more like 60 or 65 in a 55... and 70-80 in a 65... and i am not going any slower or faster than the rest of traffic around me.

    Glaze ( profile ), 09 Jul, 2009 @ 12:40pm

    Re: Raise the speed limit

Proven case, this does not work. MN changed the majority of its speed limits when the federal law changed to allow states to control their speed limits. They raised the limits in certain areas, and what happened... People bumped up their speed 5-10mph over the newly posted speed. people are going to drive fast if they have a lead foot, regardless of what the speed limit is, was or will be.

  • Copyright Insanity: The Need To Get Licenses Just To Demonstrate A Legal Point

    The 7 second rule

This would be a good example where the seven second rule could apply, find the most "note" worthy portion of the song, the ones that someone would remember, etc. and post only 7 seconds of it. Anything audio or video can be used up to 7 seconds before copyright law and the need for licensing fees come into affect. i don't know if I just wanted to hear a snippet of music, I think 7 seconds would be all that it would take for me to hear what they are trying accomplish.

Normally, I don't post on other people's comments, but like to post my own thoughts.

First I am a big proponent of TPB, however, I think the mess that they are in is justified, by law. I would also like to note, that the reason I am so adamant about them winning this case, is because it will force the RIAA, MPAA, and all the rest to start thinking of a new buisiness model, and start trying to catch up with the new revolution.

As much as I hate to say it, we are, for the most part, not a brick and mortar civilization any longer, or are going away from that aspect of things, and it is time that these industry F*Ctards started realizing that. The final decisions in the TPB case will definitely have a lasting impression on the industry should all the appeals go through.

  • MPAA Shows How Teachers Should Record Movies By Camcording Their TVs

    Glaze ( profile ), 07 May, 2009 @ 02:26pm

So... if I read all of this right... "teachers" can get their DVR, not the box thing that goes on top of the tv, but the handheld style... connect it to the dvd out of their dvd player and record... same method, they reccommend, only digital quality, instead of analog... interesting.... What A FUCKING JOKE MPAA!!!!

    Re:

The problem within the story is not the casting of the roles, its the BS move by Viacom or Zazzle restricting a woman of her rights to peacefully protest the casting of the movie, and make some money while doing so.

In essence a violation of the first amendment and yet another corporate fear that the little guy is stepping on the big guys toes...

    BOO FUCKIN HOO VIACOM!
