More on DeCSS Stupidity

from the this-is-only-getting-worse-and-worse dept

Okay, I’m not sure if either of these items have been covered in detail elsewhere, but it turns out that CNN (a subsidiary of TimeWarner) has been linking to a list of DeCSS sites from an article about the case. Of course, that’s exactly what 2600 was doing, and which was found illegal. And, now follow this carefully, the lawsuit against 2600 came from the MPAA of which Time Warner is a member. Oooops. They’ve since removed that link. Also, here’s a link to an mp3 which is the DeCSS code in song (does this mean BestNetTech has now broken the law?). At some point someone has to realize that lawsuit was painfully stupid.
